I actually found this site and posted it and some how it didn't show up so I am glad that someone else found this site.  It is a great site for teaching students about graphs and how to make their own graphs without having to use excel.

Swivel preview is a site that allows you to search for any time of graphed data. Data can be compared from multiple sources as well as filtered to specify your needs. The data can also be downloaded on to spreadsheets for further analysis then uploaded or shared. This a great tool for Math teachers. I have many times looked graphed data that would interest my students. In this site you will find line graphs, bar graphs, circle graphs and scatter plots.

Virtual Stock Market

by C. Colcord

This is a great web site that lets students set up mock accounts with $10,000 credit. Each student is supposed to take his or her money and invest it wisely in the stock market. Students can set up the cost for commissions and pick stocks from real companies that are listed on the NYSE. This is a great way to introduce students into the market and to teach them how to manage their finances and investments. In addiditon, it is a lot of fun to set up investments and buy and sell stocks and mutual funds.

Lemonade Tycoon

by C. Colcord

Lemonade Tycoon is a game that many of my students love. It gives them a chance to practice managing their finances as they try to run their own business.

You start the game with an empty stand and a few bucks. You must use your capital to buy supplies, like lemons, sugar, cups, and ice. In addition, students must judge the weather and neighborhood before they draft their initial recipe, because once the day has started, there's no changing the formula. If it's a particularly hot day, students should consider using more ice than usual in your mix. And if it's overcast, try a little extra sugar to appeal to the communal sweet tooth. It's a fun game for students of all ages.

British Broadcasting Corporation

by C.Colcord

The BBC has a lot of interesting and useful educational web sites. The fish tank is really useful becuase it gives students the opportunity to understand and apply the basic concepts of probability. In this assignment, Pythagoras is taking a dive in his fish tank. Can you work out the probability of him catching a red fish?

Triporama

By Patti McFeely

This group trip planning site “makes it easy to coordinate group travel with your friends and family.” It also makes it easy for groups of math students to research the cost of transportation, lodging, food, and admission to tourist attractions at their vacation destination. The collaborative site allows group participants to collaborate on research, share bookmarks, and assign/organize tasks. A great resource for a 6th grade project about decimals. The site requires registration (free); it might be best for the teacher to sign up and create the planner for each group to use.

Webgraphing by Florin

This website will be helpfull for students because they can graph any functions from basic to advanced and it has a analyzer which identifies the domain, range, x-intercept, y-intercept, vertical asymptotes etc. In additon students can find first, second derivative of the function that they graph and local maxima and minima.

Sketchcast

by Adam Hunt

Sketchcast is somewhat similar to Voicethread, only instead of putting photos and video into the presentation you actually draw what you want your audience to see. Like Voicethread, you can narrate your sketch as you go, or you can just sketch what you want the audience to see. My example below might be what a student would create for solutions to the basic fact 5 x 3. For older students this could much more in depth as they work to prove theorems, logic puzzles, and more. The mic was not working on my computer, which is why there is no voice with it, and the one feature I didn't like is that I wasn't able to preview it before publishing. However, it is otherwise fairly easy to use and a nice way to have students submit ideas electronically for math. If you have a blog, their solutions can be embedded right into the blog.
